Laws will evolve as robots evolve I suspect.

If sex robots become a nuisance, there may well an outcry and the politicians will have to do their thing.

Say a sex robot walked about nude. A complaint will result and the law changed to have them clothed when in public.

Say someone did robot-robot or robot-human porn, or snuff. Another complaint will result because of the corrupting effect, and the films controlled accordingly.

Laws are made to keep the peace.

Well we don’t want robots to be lepers would we?
And I don’t wanna come home and find my wify robot completely burned because she accidentally put herself on fire while cooking. She should experience the thought of: “hot” -> “pain!!” -> “away from the fire!!!!” -> damage report: “Am I still in pain? does my body look damaged?”

if still in pain or damaged:
“what kind of repair do I need?”.
else
relief -> “phew! thank goodness!” -> save memory -> judge wether to tell husband when you see him with timer on message -> continue what I was doing

The above mentioned activities are illegal because they cause pain to the victim. That is where the “harm” in those activities comes from. If robots are programmed to not experience pain, then the “harm” in those activities is not there, and the actions can be allowable.

Another question along this line of thought is, would/should the robots be given the ability to feel pain.
