I truly can not wait. This would be an excellent thing for lots and lots of people. If you stop and think about the ramification's of when robots get to this point it will be awesome. Couples who want another partner, of course those that solicit prostitutes and those that have a hard time by straying from there spouse. Of course how will others view it, that will be something that we have to wait and see, but with devises like the fleshlight and the lifelike dolls this is something that there is at least some demand for. Of course there would have to be a way to change parts, add erm, fluids, and maintance. There would also be people like myself who would have to have some way of programing them, and shared sites to for them to share there erm experances.

[...] SexRobot.com (see previous post, click with caution) has as its most interesting item (besides the bouncing boobies advert to the left and the fascinating videos, especially the Actroid film) an article by David Levy entitled Marriage and Sex With Robots - An Ethical Perspective (link) which delves into the question of human emotions and the ability to love something that is not entirely human. It’s a well written article which will stimulate the imagination of those who would consider themselves dead-set against sex with inanimate objects. Who is David Levy? He is currently the CEO of Intelligent Toys Ltd, a London based company specializing in the development of AI aided toys. He has many accomplishments, amongst them being the leader of the team that won the 1997 Loebner Prize in Artificial Intelligence in New York. For the time being you can read his CV here. David Levy has published a book in 2005, Robots Unlimited: Life in a Virtual Age, in which he presents a history of robotics and artificial intelligence, considers recent developments, and speculates about the future of AI, ethics and sexuality. I haven’t obtained the book yet, but it looks like essential reading. The bibliography for the book can be found here, and it appears chapters 9 onward are key. Many good references. Finally (at least for this post) there is the About.com interview with David Levy, in which he discusses robotic intimacy and sexuality with sex educator Cory Silverberg. [...]
